Want to travel with a car and take different tours? Here are some to take from Germany or Austria to Croatia.

To reach Solta we suggest taking Route # 5. To see more of Croatia, we suggest combining some of the other Routes.

Different Routes will take you to your dream vacation. It will be your own choice on which Route to take. We suggest Route # 1 through Triest (from Germany on the interstate to the border of Slovenia).

Route # 2 will take you through "Dalmatia", where you can visit the most beautiful National Park called "Plitvice Lakes".

It is worthwhile!

To reach Split stay on the coastal highway or take the shorter way and follow the signs to Vrpolje/Boraja (inland road).

Route 3

Take Route 1 to Triest and follow the signs after leaving the interstate to Rijeka. Cross the border Pese/Kozina to Slovenia and Pasjak to Croatia. To take a break you will have to follow the signs to Opatija or Rijeka. To avoid the curvy road between Karlobag and Starigrad - Paklenica we suggest to take the ferryboat in Prisma to Pag.

Route 4

Take Route 2 to Ljubljana and follow the signs to Postojna/Rijeka. Leave the interstate and follow the signs to Rijeka. Follow Jelsane/Rupa to Croatia and follow Route 3.

Route 5

Take Route 2 to Gracac to Knin - Sinja to Split.

Arriving Split follow the signs to the port (Car Ferry) to Mole where the ferries will leave to go to Solta. Then purchase you ticket at the booth called "Jadrolinija" .
You will receive one ticket for the car with driver and another one per additional passenger.
After arriving in Rogac (port of Solta) follow the signs to Stomorska ? via Grohote and Gornje Selo, you will reach it after 13 km. When you drive towards the village square, turn left on to port road. Our travel agency will be the second house on the left.

Have a safe trip !

Travel documents

The usual documents like insurance card and registration card will be needed. Germans and Austrians do not need the ?Green Insurance Card?, but we do suggest bringing it. In case you travel with a car that does not belong to you, you will need to bring a letter of authorization from the owner of the car.

Traffic rules

Traffic rules are the same as in Germany and Austria, including the use of seat belts.

The speed limit if not otherwise marked for PKW?s on interstates is 130 km/h, coast roads 100 km/h, highways (like the coast-highway) 80 km/h and in the city 50 km/h. Speed controls are rare especially in season.
The legal alcohol level in your blood is limited to 0.5 per thousand. Please be aware of the fact that especially on weekends, strict D.U.I. controls are being conducted.

Car breakdowns

The Croatian Automobile Club "HAK" is available around the clock at the
telephone number 987.
Here are some important phone numbers:
Police 92 , Red Cross (Ambulance ) 94 , Fire Department 93 .
Another piece of advise:
- Inform the police in case of a car accident
- Inform the officers at the border of any damages on the car that have been there before, before you will get to Croatia

From June to September Croatian Radio broadcasts traffic advisory in foreign language ? on the hour, right after the news. Program 2 (HR2) will send a signal for an automatic search; the display will show HRT-HR 2. If your vehicle is equipped with RDS, you will see ?HRT-HR2? on your display.
